When I was a little one,

Maybe four, five, or six.

I thought growing up was so much fun,

As every problem will be fixed

I’ll lead a life of my choice.

I won’t have to study any more.

Then I’ll be my own boss,

And go on world tours.

Slowly and gradually days passed by,

That little one has gone.

Now what is left is a depressed soul,

Working from dusk till dawn.

Now, life is a black and white film,

My life has turned grey.

Gone are the carefree days,

The innocence ran away.

I was completely broken down.

Ready to give up as well.

Then I heard a voice speaking,

My inner voice began to yell.

Run, run, run!

You are in a race.

You never run for yourself,

It’s the world you have to face.

You fail, all eyes on you,

You win, they go blind.

You are naive enough to believe,

That the world is too kind.

Well, they are ready to pull you down,

Mock you, crush your will and laugh.

But, you got to trust yourself till the very end.

That,  my dear,  is self-love.

Just keep one thing in mind,

And bear all the pain.

One day you will rise and shine,

And believe me, nothing will go in vain.
