“Don’t let mental blocks control you. Set yourself free. Confront your fear and turn the mental blocks into building blocks.”

Willpower is the key to success, and it is always our determination and persistence that will make us successful individuals. There is no age for learning and imparting knowledge, it is in fact a lifelong process. But unfortunately, students in India are looked down upon if they do part-time jobs along with their studies. To break this stereotype, Swayamdeepta Das, a first-year (CSE) of our college has started working for an online startup called, "Snaplearn", which serves the purpose of solving academic doubts on WhatsApp for students till class 12, free of cost.

A startup is a company founded by one or more entrepreneurs to develop a unique product or service and bring it to the market. These companies typically don't have a fully developed business model and, more crucially, lack adequate capital to move onto the next phase of business. Most of these companies are initially funded by their founders. Swayamdeepta was looking for opportunities to start earning during her student life, when she came across this startup. She says, "I approached the manager of Snaplearn as soon as I came across their idea as it was the purpose that attracted me the most, and I have always had a knack for teaching."

She had commenced her journey from March 2021 and till now she has solved over 50 questions for which she receives 25 bucks for each question. Swayamdeepta has also been freelancing in book editing, formatting and designing, and is curious to explore even more opportunities. She solves doubts of students up to class 12 of Mathematics and Science, including competitive exams like JEE, NEET and basic engineering subjects.

As Jim Rohn said, "He who serves the most, reaps the most." Swayamdeepta believes in helping others and has always been someone who looks up to new opportunities that allows her to help people. She started with providing students with written solutions of their doubts and has lately upgraded their service to provide them with video explanations of solutions, which has helped to stimulate her confidence, she says.

The owner of Snaplearn, Shyam Manohar Singh, plans to get his startup more reach and thus impart free knowledge to students from all over India and maybe more, and Swayamdeepta is doing a commendable job by helping to uplift his dream. She has definitely taken a step forward towards normalizing students doing part time jobs in India.
