● The Story so Far: -

Today, let me share with you a story of my friend Arghyadeep Dey, who lives in Naihati. One fine evening he was returning home after a busy day in college. So, he was boarding a train and took a seat beside the window and indulged himself in listening to music. When the train reached Bandel Station, his mind got diverted as he heard a puppy whining. It seemed that it was moaning in pain.

Somehow, Arghyadeep felt that it needed help. He got down at the station and looked for the little heart. He found the puppy beside the railway track, whose leg was fractured. It seemed that it was hit badly by a running train. Arghyadeep rescued the little one from the railway track and took him to the house of one of his brothers, Deep Basu, who is a veterinary surgeon by profession. He treated this little one very well, cleaned up all the blood, plastered the broken leg and fed it. He also gave it some painkillers and eventually Arghyadeep brought it back home. After two weeks of proper treatment and care, it reverted back to its cheerful self. Arghyadeep was filled with joy. It gave him immense satisfaction and happiness as he brought the puppy back to its normal life.

● Evolution of the idea and the working:

Arghyadeep’s brother got him attached to a group of such young and vibrant souls, who had been engaging themselves in taking care of the environment and looking after the stray animals and the poor people also. The name of the group is “Rongdhanu”. Arghyadeep used to attend meetings and started spending time with this group. Even the pandemic situation failed to create any obstacle in their work. They started to provide treatment to injured street animals and also distributed food. In this way, Arghyadeep got involved in the treatment of street animals. He learned from his brother the different ways of treating injured street animals. He came to know about the variety of medicines that are commonly given to them. Thus he started helping the animals in all the possible ways with the group and also individually.

● Conclusion: -

We have often heard that the love we get from animals is in its purest form . The bonding of friendship and trust with them becomes unbreakable.. But, they need us at their difficult times because they can’t express their pain by verbal language. So, they need people like Arghyadeep to stand by them.

We wish this endeavor of his to keep flourishing with flying colours.
